By creating incentives for the development of solar, small-scale hydro, small-scale wind and biomass energy, we can begin to replace South Carolina’s traditional energy sources with cleaner alternatives.
Developing green power will also result in a more sustainable, reliable source of long-term power for South Carolina. Most traditional energy sources use finite resources, while solar, wind, water and biomass sources are replenished naturally.
Developing local sources of renewable energy will mean that South Carolina’s energy dollars can stay in South Carolina, benefiting South Carolinians. Rather than sending substantial financial resources out of state to purchase fuel, South Carolina can invest its money in home grown energy sources.
